Art and Music for Adults

April 11 - May 23 (No class on May 2, 2023/Election Day)

Join us each Tuesday as we learn about different artists and music genres from the 1800’s through the 1980’s.  Participants will listen to relevant musical pieces and create an art project in the style of the featured artist.

This program is for adults (discussion and music may be of a mature nature.)

April 11: Artist: Vincent Van Gogh / Music: Romantic Period (Chopin, Brahms, Bizet)

April 18: Artist: Pablo Picasso / Music: Modernist (Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky)

April 25: Artist: Paul Gauguin / Music: "Signature Pieces" by Wagner, Dukas, Rossini, and R. Strauss

May 9:  Artist: Wassily Kandinsky / Music: Russian Composers (Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rachmaninoff)

May 16: Artist: Andy Warhol / Music: Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground

May 23: Artist: Keith Haring / Music: 80's Punk, Pop and Club Music
